Lop Eared Rabbit

Cute, cuddly, totally awwwwwwwwwww That’s a lop eared rabbit. They are the ones with the flippy floppy ears that you want to pick up and squeeze. If your children want the kind of rabbit that most resembles the stuffed toy version, this is the one for them!
Lop’s have a nice temperment, are easy to handle, and sturdy enough to withstand cuddles from excited children so they are a great choice for the family. They don’t require a huge amount of grooming, but just make sure you don’t overfeed them as they are not naturally prone to activity.
Lop Ears are possibly the oldest breed of domestic rabbit around originating as early as the 1700’s, but no one knows quite where they came from! There are several different types but they all originate from the original English Lop which happens to have the longest ears, but it quite large in size.
The Dwarf Lop and the Mini-Lop are the most popular types people have as pets and they come in a variety of colours. They are actually born with upright ears that gradually soften as they age!
