Angora Rabbit

Imagine a ball of the softest white fluffy wool you’ve ever felt, and that is what an Angora rabbit looks like! Originally from Turkey, they are some of the oldest domestic rabbits around, and are primarily bred for their soft and silky wool used to make lovely soft sweaters!
However If you are interested in a show rabbit or want to spin your own home grown wool, and have the time an patience to groom them regularly, they make lovely calm and relaxed little companions with their rather unqiue appearance. They might not be the best choice for families with young children though as they need to be handled with care and their fur can often become matted which requires immediate attention.
There are five different types of Angora rabbits and they come in all shapes and sizes! The English Angora is the smallest of the five and popular as a pet because it reminds people of a puppy dog or a teddy bear but at the same time it requires a lot of grooming, especially as the fur is more cotton like in nature.
The other breeds are French, German, Giant, and Satin. They are larger in size and more comercially bred for their wool which produces distinctive textures depending on the breed.
