Rabbit Breeds

There are an immense number of different variations of rabbit brreds available at this moment in time, with precise distinctions between breeds and colouring becoming blurred. The size of rabbit, the type of ear and texture of the coast are the major differentiators between different types of breed. Colouring though visually very distinctive is not part of the usual differentiation of different types of rabbit breed.

Also confusing the matter is the differences used in technical classifications and the ones you will fin used in most pet shops, very few of the dwarf rabbits sold in pet shops and retailers tend to be true rabbits but actually dwarf crosses which are much larger, hardier and more suited to be domestic pets.
